AutomateVerge is free to read, and we earn money from it. This page explains how, so you can decide how much weight to give our recommendations.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. It doesn’t cost you anything extra.
As an Amazon Associate, AutomateVerge earns from qualifying purchases. We may also join other retailer or manufacturer affiliate programs. When we do, the links work the same way, and we’ll add the program here.
Affiliate links are marked with a disclosure near the top of the page where they appear, and they carry the sponsored link attribute so search engines know they are commercial links.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Advertisers don’t choose what we write, and we don’t review a product because an advertiser asks us to. The ads you see are chosen by Google based on your settings and the page you’re on.
How this affects what we write
- Commissions don’t decide our verdicts. A product earning us a commission is not a reason to recommend it, and a product with no affiliate program can still make our lists.
- We list drawbacks. We try to include at least one honest limitation for each product we recommend.
- We don’t accept payment for reviews. If we ever publish sponsored content, we’ll label it clearly at the top of the page.
- Prices change. We don’t publish prices unless we date them. Check the retailer’s page for the current price.
Tested vs researched
We label how we know what we write:
- Tested: we used the product ourselves. The page says what we did and shows our own photos or readings.
- Researched: we haven’t tested it. We compare manufacturer specifications, official sources and independent reports, and we list them.
- Tool: a calculator that shows its formula, so you can change every input.
If a page doesn’t say “tested”, we didn’t test it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t write fake reviews or invent hands-on experience.
- We don’t give electrical, safety or legal advice. Follow your appliance manufacturer’s instructions and your lease, and use a licensed professional where required.
Questions
